St Itas played host to St Catherines in this league encounter on Wed evening the 5th of May in Pilmore. St catherines started well with a wind advantage and had two points on the scoreboard before Itas replied with Pedro Geary getting the first point for them. Disaster struck within minutes when St Catherines corner forward blasted the ball into the St Itas net, Goal keeper Paudraig O Brien could do little on this occasion.

From the resulting Puck out Pedro Geary got his second pont of the day followed by another from Gerry McCarthy. the ball was returned to the Itas forward line and as the full forward was running through the ref deemd he was fouled. From the resulting penalty the ball was struck hard and one of the backs got his hurl to dirvet it over the cross bar. However from the puck out the ball came straight back in and the St Catherines centre forward slotted the ball straight over the bar. Pedro Geary managed another point for Itas before St Catherines scored the last point of the half to leave the side St Itas 0-4 to St Catherines 1-5 at the break

With the wind behind them for the second half St Itas started well with Pedro Geary and Gerry McCarthy getting two more points on the scoreboard. St Catherines replied with a single point before centre forward for St Catherines collected the ball on the 45 and ran straight at the Itas defence rounding two players he drove a low shot past Padraigh O Brien to get St Catherins second goal. From the puck out Pedro Geary who was having a good game collected the ball and sent it high over the St Catherins crossbar, this was followed by a great goal from Don O Rourke. With the wind helping St Itas started to push more and Gerry McCarthy added another to his tally before St Catherines centre forward added a point to his tally.with about 5 minutes left Luke O Brien at full forward pounced on a high dropping ball to drive it past the St Catherines keeper to bring the sides level. With only 2 minutes left on the clock Gerry McCarthy round off his tally for the day with a great point on the run. the final score was St Itas 2-9 St Catherines 2-8
