St Itas V Midleton 23/08/11
On Tuesday night last St Itas took on Midleton in their 4th league match of the year. The venue was Pilmore and as always Jim Grieein had the field in fantastic condition. The evening was good with clear skies and a slight breeze blowing towards the Road side goal.
St Itas very much understrenght got off to a great start in the first half with Warren terry and Alan Loughlin getting our first two poins before Seamie Harnedy got his first score of the evening with a well taken goal.Midleton replied with two points before Beller Cronin struck a long range point from near the sideline. Against the wind Midleton then moved one of the forwards back into defence which helped against the wind. from the puck out Midleton went up the field to score another point before Seamie Harnedy took his second score of the day from a free. Midleton replied with a point before Harnedy scored another point and a goal bringing the sides in at half time with a score of St Itas 2-6 to Midletons 0-5.
The second half, Midleton started well with the wind at their back the got several frees which they pointed before St Itas replied. With the game very much in the balance Midleton were playing well before they scored the first of the goals in the second half at this stage it was point for point before Midleton once again found the back of the net. With a few minutes to go St Itas managed to get a point to bring the sides in level at the full time whistle.
