St Itas having lost the first round of the championship to Bride Rovers with
a scoreling of Bride Roers 2-14 to itas 2-09 had to face Fr O Neills in
the second round. The game was fixed for Copperalley in Youghal on Monday
7th July for a 7.30 throw in. With a breeze behind them St Itas started
well they lead the first half but facing into a strong breeze and a strong
sun in the second half saw Fr O Neills come back strong to draw level for
the first time in the game a min into injury time. With Itas scoring a
total of 4 -2 pts to Fr Oneills 1-11. throughout the game both
side were
level
at
the
end
of
full time. Then with a short break extra time was started with Itas playing
into a strong wind in the first half of extra time. Itas managed to score
a goal and 2 points in this half leaving them well ahead again at the break
, But Fr O Neils had to face into a stiff breeze in the sceond half of
extra time and as a result couldnt manage to claw there way back into it
for a second time and eventually St Itas ran out winners on a scoreline
of 5-10 to Fr Oneil 2-16
